“…and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” - 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NASB)
When I read this scripture, I think of our nation and other nations of the world and how God is calling us individually as well as a nation to be humble, seek His face, turn from our wicked ways and then He will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land.
Looking at the condition of our nation, I am reminded that this didn’t happen overnight, just like us as a people when we turn away from the Lord and choose a path without His guidance, we slowly move further away from His voice calling us and we only hear what we want. We are no longer convicted to keep His statutes and ordinances as a people or as a nation. Right and wrong become watered down without any substance to back up our belief system.
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace as You offer us a solution to a healed land. I speak on behalf of myself and Your people to bring us to a place of humility and prayer and cleanse our heart from anything that keeps us from being humble before You.
