Let Us Reason Together

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool. If you consent and obey, you will eat the best of the land…” -Isaiah 1:18-19 NASB

As I get older, I look back on my life experiences that have molded my thinking and how I respond now to similar situations. I used to think that one becomes mature by a certain age like some switch turns on, and you are automatically mature. I no longer believe that is true. One can be considered an adult and still not emotionally, mentally, or spiritually mature.

I thought by now I’d be 100% healed from my past but things still pop up that cause me to shed a layer of pain to walk into the healing the Lord provides. People come from different backgrounds and experiences, which form our beliefs. Still, I believe there is a switch that can help us mature: reasoning with our Creator and allowing Him into our lives to guide us, strengthen us, and have a loving relationship with Him that will help us better respond to our world. There will be people places and things that come along in our lives that can cause a stir within us for the good or the bad, but there is one constant that we can reason with who will set our path straight and that is our Lord Jesus.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your truth, thank You that we can look into our lives to see that we need You and that once we receive You, we are cleansed, white as snow. I know that not all things we do are sins, but can be pain we carry and wrong thinking that You want to change in us, so create in us a clean heart and restore us to the joy of Your salvation and sustain us with a willing spirit. Jesus, You are the way the truth, and the life.
