The faithfulness of God is something I don’t want to forget. I know I can get sidetracked by all the interruptions, disappointments, and encountering unkind people throughout my day. The list of things that veil hearts from remembering God’s faithfulness can go on. Then the weight of it can feel like a heavy cover that presses us down, so we cannot see God through our overlaying circumstances.
God gives us ways to see Him as we pray and recall His word. He will enable us to come out
from under life’s cover that blocks our perspective and view of truth. For me, my first step
toward unwavering hope is to settle down to a quiet place even if it’s just in my mind so I can think through the feeling of being suffocated, so I can ask God to help me. Afterward, He brings to mind His word which I must believe and He reminds me to recall His faithfulness throughout my life, the testimony of others and examples in the Bible.
Then I begin to see clearly that I am not alone, He is with me and never left me as He says in Deuteronomy 31:8, The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. When was a time that you remembered God’s faithfulness that helped you from wavering in hope?
Heavenly Father, You are the true Almighty God, the maker of heaven and earth and You are
the beating of our heart. Help us to settle before You Lord and recall Your faithfulness and to
become more acquainted with Your ways so that we may live a life for Your purpose and Your glory as You guide us.
