Refresh

“For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.” - Jeremiah 31:25 ESV

When I think of New Year's Resolutions, I think of getting in shape, kicking bad habits, reflecting on the past year, and hopefully achieving goals. I decided to get a fresh perspective coming into the new year. I listed the traumatic events that occurred last year and looked for God in them. I also looked for ways to refresh my outlook this year so that I could focus more on Him. I know God was with me last year, even when it seems like a blur. The most important part is knowing He never left me, even though I missed some quiet moments in my daily routine while He carried me through the chaos.

Through the good and the bad, we have a God who wants our attention and an intimate relationship with Him. He wants us to grow into a mature walk with Him that can come from the good and the bad in our lives if we allow Him to shape us through our experiences into someone who will bring Him glory as He replenishes us. Just push the refresh button and start over, whether it’s our thinking or actions.

Heavenly Father, You are worthy of our praise, thank You that You satisfy the weary soul and replenish us. May we see You and desire a deeper relationship with You this new year.
