Skipping Rocks

“It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the

darkness, and the light dwells with Him.” - Daniel 2:22

Have you stood near a body of water and looked for a flat rock to skip? Maybe

you’ve never skipped rocks. To skip a rock, one takes a flat rock, assumes the

pose, and flings it slightly above the water. The momentum causes the rock to

skip numerous times across the water, and it eventually sinks.

I woke up out of sorts and couldn’t quite identify the reason so I prayed and asked

God to show me what was going on and shortly thereafter, a mental list flowed

through my mind with emotions pairing with some thoughts on my list. Then the

spirit of God showed me how I hadn’t talked much with Him about these issues,

and how I’ve just been skimming the surface like skipping rocks and He wants me

to go deeper with Him. Then peace came as I prepared to go over my list with Him

from the depths of my heart.

Life can throw many situations at us all at once and then these situations can pile

up which can overwhelm us or keep us too busy to talk meaningfully with the

Lord. The Lord wants to be included in sorting out our burdens and the activities

of our lives. No matter the situation, let's not forget to go deeper, one rock at a

time.

Heavenly Father, “To You, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for You

have given me wisdom and power; even now you have made known to me what

we requested of You.” -Daniel 2:23
