Your ears will hear a word behind you saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left. -Isaiah 30:21 NASB
I had a conversation with someone about how some animals trust us completely and shared the story of Endo the blind horse who listens and responds to the cues of his owner and jumps over obstacles. Her reply was “I have enough trouble trusting an invisible God.” This conversation prompted me to look more intently into Endo's story. I learned that Endo won 3 Guinness World Records for events achieved by a blind horse. This was accomplished by his willingness to listen and learn new words. He had lost his balance after losing vision and had to be trained to regain balance and then revert to voice cues due to no longer being able to use visual cues. What helped is he already had basic training before he became blind and had a trusting relationship with his faithful owner, and Endo enjoys being with his owner.
Are we willing to trust God this thoroughly? Even though we don’t see the invisible God, we have the voice of His Spirit guiding us. We may have to start with the basics of what we already know about God and allow Him to guide us into a deeper, more trusting relationship with Him.
Heavenly Father, Thank You for your invisible tributes, eternal power, and divine nature. You have directed us in the way of wisdom and led us in upright paths so that when we walk our steps will not be impeded and if we run, we will not stumble, may we continue you trust You even when we do not see what is ahead.
