I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. - Psalm 121:1-2 (NASB)
I’d like to share something the Lord did the other day. Upon arriving home, I was backing my vehicle into a parking spot; a man in a gas company vehicle pulls in right beside me. We get out of the vehicles at the same time and say hello. He explains that he is looking to repair some gas lines that his boss inspected earlier in the week. The worker walks up the sidewalk with me and my adjoining neighbor asks him if he is looking for someone and it turns out it is my neighbor’s line that needs repair. Then I mentioned that I had smelled gas in my place, so, he inspects the lines, uses his gas “sniffer” and sure enough, I had two leaks in my place, which was not discovered during the earlier inspection.
I was able to get a plumber to my place within hours and shortly after the gas company returned to inspect the repairs and turned the gas back on. Not only was God’s timing perfect, but I was able to pay the plumber for the repairs on the pipes within my place.
In my ignorance of abnormal gas odor, the Lord knew it was dangerous. The Lord set up all these people to be in place without us understanding the danger we were in.
The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever. (Verses 7-8)
Heavenly Father, Creator of heaven and earth, thank You that You care for Your people. Thank You that You are our Helper and that You are our Keeper. (Verse 5) Thank You for protecting us (Verse 7). May others know through Your example that You are their Helper. May we see You as You work in our lives.
